Home Acquisition

The Brooklyn Neighborhood Improvement Association (BNIA) is dedicated to making homeownership a reality for underserved residents in Central Brooklyn and East New York. Through rehabilitating and marketing homes, we create affordable pathways to ownership, revitalizing neighborhoods and empowering families. Our efforts focus on transforming vacant or neglected properties into vibrant homes for our community.

Livonia Houses

Originally 3 HUD-owned properties left vacant in Brownsville, these homes were revitalized into modern, affordable residences. Through careful renovation, BNIA turned neglected structures into welcoming spaces, offering local families a chance to own a piece of their neighborhood and build lasting stability.

Ajoshe Homes, HDFC

Spanning Brownsville and Crown Heights, these 5 properties were rescued from disrepair and transformed into havens of opportunity. With thoughtful design and rehabilitation, BNIA created homes that not only provide shelter but also strengthen the fabric of these historic neighborhoods for new homeowners.

Nia Homes, HDFC

This project brought 8 previously city-owned properties in Crown Heights back to life. Once abandoned and deteriorating, these buildings were reborn as energy-efficient, affordable homes, tailored for low- and moderate-income buyers. Each unit reflects BNIA’s commitment to quality and community pride.

Stuyvesant Gardens, HDFC

In East New York, 4 formerly distressed properties were restored into charming, affordable homes. This project breathed new life into a struggling area, blending modern upgrades with the character of the community, and giving families a fresh start through homeownership. eaque epsa quae abillo inventore
